M & M launched all-electric e20 car in India at Rs 5.96 lakh.

Mahindra e20Mahindra & Mahindra today launched an all-electric four seater passenger car, e20 at the price of Rs 5.96 lakh (on road, Delhi).

It is developed by Reva Electric Car Company and the e2o will replace the existing REVAi and will be the most cost efficient car to own in India.

The car is also India’s only all-electric car that will use generation lithium ion batteries and have a minimum range 100 kms per charge, which the company claims is sufficient for most daily journeys within a city.

Pawan Goenka, Mahindra & Mahindra president (Automotive & Farm Equipment Sectors) said that “Electric vehicles today epitomise clean and green driving and Mahindra wants to take the lead in developing this segment and its surrounding eco system.”

“We sincerely hope that such an initiative will find the desired support and incentives from all governmental agencies that will support us in this journey of providing clean mobility solutions.”

The e2o will allow users to carry out self-fueling through any 15 amp plug point at home or at their workplace. This can be augmented with the aid of Sun2Car solar technology, said the company.
