Dinosaur’s skeleton found in Assam.

AssamChirang: A near intact skeleton of what could be of a dinosaur has been found in Assam’s Chirang district, a senior forest official today.

On February 24, Divisional Forest Officer Brahmananda Patiri said that the 6-feet high skeleton was originally found on the bank of the Kuklung River by villagers of Nakrapatiguri while they went on a pilgrimage to a temple.

Patiri said that one of the villagers carts the skeleton home and after local journalists learnt of it informed forest officials who detained it today.

The forest department informed the Wildlife Trust of India, Gauhati University’s Zoology Department, the Veterinary College in Guwahati and other animal experts for confirmation, Patiri said.

The area where the skeleton was found is adjacent to the world-famous Manas Wildlife Sanctuary.
