Guinness Book of records holder Abhijit Baruah broke his own record.

Abhijit BaruahNew Delhi: On Thursday, Guinness Book of records holder Abhijit Baruah broke his own record of landing most punches on a boxing pad in a minute.

Baruah raged his way to a whopping 387 punches in 60 seconds, 58 more than his previous best of 329 set in October 13, 2012. Thus, he achieved an amazing average of over six punches per second.

A martial arts expert, Baruah has wins numerous accolades in over 10 different sporting categories, including boxing. The 23-year-old from Jorhat created the record at the Assam Bhawan.

In fact, the Assamese boxer landed 395 punches, but only 387 were counted as full contact hits.

An elated Baruah said that “I am elated to have broken my own record. It is a very proud moment for me to have accomplished this feat. I was confident that I would be able to achieve the mark, in fact the target that I give myself was far more but still I am happy to have gotten 387.”
