Assam CM order magisterial inquiry into killing of Bodo youth.

AssamGuwahati: Assam CM Tarun Gogoi directed the Deputy Commissioner of Baksa district to institute a magisterial inquiry into the seizure and killing of a Bodo youth earlier this month.

An official statement said that “The inquiry will probe the matter of kidnapping of three youths — Kundan Basumatary, Rajib Basumatary and Rajkumar Rabha on December 21.”

The three, all from Narayanpur village in Baksa district, were chosen from Narayanpur Bazar by a group of men wearing Army uniform.

The body of Rajib was found at Dalongpar under Tamulpur Police station on December 23. Rajkumar runaway with multiple wounds and claimed that their kidnappers had asked them about illegal weapons, tortured them and killed Rajib.

In the meantime, in another statement, the Army deprived of any involvement in the incident and said that it had also ordered an investigation into the matter.
