Gurgaon: On Friday, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) launched its latest version of sports utility vehicle Range Rover priced at Rs 1.72 crore (ex-showroom Delhi), which may go up to Rs 1.90 crore, depending upon specifications and variants.
The newest SUV from the Tata owned JLR will be available in both petrol and diesel variants. Both the variants will carry V8 engines with the petrol version powered by 5 litres and the diesel one with 4.4 litres respectively.
Rohit Suri, Vice President, JLR India said that “It’s clever design and revolutionary lightweight construction will give Indian customers a product that will cope with the most difficult of terrains and provide a step change in comfort, refinement and handling.”
He also said that “We are looking at smaller categories of vehicles and products are at initial planning stages. It is a very important and dominant segment and we are considering entering that segment.”
He added that the company will also expand its dealership network to 25 by the end of next year from 15 right now, with a focus on tier II cities like Chandigarh and Bhuvaneshwar.
