SEBI opened an office in Assam.

SEBIGuwahati: Securities &Exchange Board (SEBI) has opened an office in Guwahati. SEBI plans to gradually open offices in different areas of Northeast India.

Assam government has announced that it will soon come up with laws to tame unregulated financial bodies. SEBI chairman U K Sinha who was in Guwahati on Wednesday said that it has prepared plans to work with the state to channelize savings to financial market.

Assam Chief Minister, Tarun Gogoi said that state government has commended the criminal investigation department to look after different cases of fraud of unincorporated financial bodies.

“We will also bring legislation to arrest the growth of such bodies,” he added.
