Shinde concise CCPA about the situation in Assam.

Sushilkumar ShindeNew Delhi: Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde Thursday concise the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs (CCPA) about the situation in Assam which had witnessed racial violence recently.

Shinde is learnt to have apprised the CCPA, at a meeting chaired by PM Manmohan Singh, about the steps taken by the government in rehabilitating the victims of the violence between Bodos and Muslim migrants in some districts of Assam.

About five lakh people were affected by the violence that had broken out in Bodoland Territorial Autonomous Districts Chirang, Dhubri and Kokrajhar in late July.

Three lakh people have been changed and sufficient forces have been deployed to maintain law and order.

Shinde is understood to have told the CCPA that two lakh people were still in relief camps and they will be improved after verifying their antecedents and land records.
