2012 London Olympics Day 6: Saina Nehwal storms into semi-final.

Saina NehwalLondon: Badminton: India’s Saina Nehwal has defeated Demark’s Tine Baun in straight sets to book semi-final berth. She finished with score line of 21-15 in the first game and 22-20 in the second.

On the other hand, it was end of the road for Parupalli Kashyap after his heroic fight against world No 2 and top seed Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia in a quarterfinal of the men’s singles lost 19-21 11-21 at the Wembley Arena.

Boxing: Indian disappointments at London Olympics continued as Jai Bhagwan crashed out of the Men’s Light (60kg) category on Thursday. He lost 8-16 to Gani Zhailauov of Kazakhstan.

Vijender Singh became India’s first boxer at the London Olympics 2012 to qualify for the quarter-final on Friday. Vijender thrash out his American opponent in tight battle by 16-15.

Shooting:  Shooter Ronjan Sodhi fails to qualify for the final of Men’s Double Trap event at the London Olympics 2012.

While, Vijay Kumar finished at 5th position at the end of first stage of men`s 25m Rapid Fire Pistol qualification round.

Tennis: Indian mixed doubles pair of Leander Paes and Sania Mirza storm into the quarter-final after defeating the serbian pair of Nenad Zimonjic and Ana Ivanovic of Serbia.
