Mumbai: California-based Swipe Telecom has launched a range of tablets, including the country’s first 3D tablet. The tablets are priced in the range of Rs 5,999 to Rs 6,999, whereas the one with phone facility is priced at Rs 8,999.
The Swipe 3D Life Tab X74 is priced at Rs. 5,999. The tablet has a 7-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 800×480. The device is powered by Allwinner A13 Cortex A8 CPU clocked at 1.2GHz-1.5GHz and also has the Mali-400 GPU with 512MB of RAM. The device has 4GB internal storage expandable up to 16GB via a microSD card.
The device also has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth built in support for a 2G GSM SIM card and video playback support for 1080p video. The device also has a rear facing 2MP camera. A 3,400 mAh battery powers the device.
The device has a primary focus of 3D gaming and videos, with its colour separation stereoscopic display. It will ship with one pair of 3D glasses.
The company says that these are the fastest and lightest devices in the category. Swipe Telecom Founder and Chief executive Shripal Gandhi said that the domestic tablet PC market was 0.95 million units or Rs 2,200 crore in value last year, but is expected to touch 2.2 million units this year.
