Samsung set to launch Windows RT based tablet.

samsungSamsung will be first to launch a Windows tablet running on Arm-based processors rather than Intel, reports said.

Samsung has said that it is working on a tablet that will run the Windows RT OS, part of Microsoft’s line of Windows 8 software and is likely to be launched in October.

Windows RT is the first mainstream computer OS from Microsoft to be built for a touch-screen device and develop the energy-sipping chips typically used in smartphones.

Samsung’s Windows RT tablet will feature Qualcomm Inc. (QCOM)’s Snapdragon processor, the reports said.

Windows RT has created a chance for phone-chip makers Qualcomm, Texas Instruments Inc. (TXN) and Nvidia Corp. (NVDA) to compete against Intel and AMD for orders in the computer industry.
