The trio of world number one Deepika Kumari, Bombayla Devi and Chekrovolu Swuro lost 210-211 to the Denmark team, comprising Louise Laursen, Maja Jager and Carina Christiansen.

Rowing: Indian rower Sawarn Singh enters quarter-finals of the men’s singles sculls in Olympics 2012 on Sunday. On the other hand, Sandeep Kumar, Manjit Singh lost in the doubles sculls rowing event at the games.

Air Pistol: Heena Sidhu fails to make final of 10m air pistol event and she finishing at 12th amongst 49 shooters with 382 points. On the other hand, Anuraj Singh also missed out, finishing 23rd with 378 points.

Table Tennis: Soumyajit Ghosh crashed out after suffering a 1-4 defeat at the hands of North Korea’s Hyok Bong Kim in 2nd round men’s singles encounter on Sunday. The 19 years old player from Siliguri lost 11-9 6-11 5-11 9-11 and 7-11 at the ExCel centre.

Tennis: Vishnu Vardhan has been handed over a late place in Tennis singles as replacement for Germany’s Philipp Kohlschreiber. On the other hand, Somdev Devvarman crashes out of the men’s singles event with a straight-set beat against Jarkko Nieminen.

Indian men’s doubles duo Leander Paes-Vishnu Vardhan and Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna will have to wait as their matches were postponed due to rain.

Badminton: Saina Nehwal is leading in her Group Women’s single match against Jaquet S of Switzerland starting now. She wins the first game 21-9. The second game is presently in progress where she is leading.

Boxing: India’s Jai Bhagwan is leading in his match against Seychelles’ Allisop Andrique. He wins Round 1 and Round 2 with 7-3, 7-3.
