Guwahati: A criminal case has been filed against MP Sansuma Khungur Bwismuthiary and Janaklal Basumatary, president of the World Bodo Historical Society for their recent burst against the Kirtan Ghosha supposedly with a malafide intention to provoke communal hatred.
Arun Pathak criticized before the court that both Bwismuthiary and Basumatary have misunderstand Kirtan Ghosha with the intention of creating ‘communal and religious disharmony between the Bodo-Mech and the Assamese community.’
They called for a ban on both the Kirtan Ghosa and the Nam Ghosha. Their statement on these two extremely revered Vaishnavite scriptures has cast aspersions also on the Mahapurusa Sankaradeva and his follower Madhavadeva, said the petitioner.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate LK Saikia recorded the statements of Arun Pathak and after hearing his counsel Bhaskar Dev Konwar, fixed the case for further orders on June 26.
