The multi-starrer sci-fi Avengers has raked in Rs. 15 crore at the collection centres in the country, whereas multi-starrer Tezz collected Rs. 11.25 crore in three days. ‘The Avengers’ was released on 800-plus screens, in 3D, IMAX 3D and 2D in India on 27th April.
But, The Avengers grossed Rs. 4.01 crore net on the first day of its release. The business of the film grew up by 6 to 23% on Saturday and Sunday and the film earned Rs. 4.67 crore and Rs. 5.32 crore respectively. The movie is going strong on the weekdays also and is likely to set new record at the India Box Office.
However, UTV Motion Pictures, which is distributing the film in India, has claimed that The Avengers’ collection is the 3rd biggest Hollywood weekend earning after Avatar and Mission Impossible 1V: Ghost Protocol.
