Guwahati: The executive group of the Majuli Cultural Landscape Management Authority (MCLMA) in its meeting has asked the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the authority to strongly monitor the progress of the various development works starts under the Planning Commission of India special aid programme in the Majuli cultural landscape region area.
The meeting presided over by Chief Secretary in-charge PP Verma has called the Planning and Development Department of the State to recommend a tender for selection of one consultancy firm to prepare the request for preparation of the Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) for the Majuli cultural landscape region area.
MCLMA CEO Syed Iftiquar Hussain said that the CDP for the landscape region is likely to be prepared in a year. The 12 international consultancy firms responded to the tender notice.
Six of international consultancy firms were shortlisted later and now the Planning and Development Department has been asked to suggest a tender to choose on consultancy firm to prepare the request for the preparation of the CDP.
The MCLMA has been set up as per the proviso of the Majuli Cultural Landscape Region Act, 2006. Its executive group contains 30 members.
