Guwahati: Oil India Limited (OIL) Chairman and Managing Director, NM Borah has pleasing the success of Assam Engineering College alumni in different spheres, specially their achievements in the energy sector.
He mentioned that many of them have earned acknowledgment as engineers at OIL and other petrochemical industries.
The highly esteemed engineer, who heads OIL, advised students to consider careers in the petroleum sector as it would be significant for at least the next 6 or 7 decades, even as option and non-conventional energy sources are being explored.
Addressing students and faculty, Borah mentioned that the petroleum sector presented superb opportunities and challenges to young engineering professionals, and the country also required their services to meet growing energy needs.
“We have to keep running…using technology to the fullest in order to have more access to oil and natural gas”, he remarked.
Borah in his speech spoke about the upstream petroleum industry its future and challenges, influence students to organize themselves to respond to latest prospects in an appropriate manner.
