HCL launched three new tablets for education institutions.

HCLNew Delhi: HCL Infosystems launch three latest tablets starting from 7,999 on Monday for student, the reports said.

HCL Infosystems, revealed two tablet computers that are HCL ME U1 and HCL MyEdu Tab. Whereas HCL ME U1 has been introduced with a price of Rs 7,999, the HCL MyEdu Tab – K12 Version is priced at Rs 11,499.

The U1 tablet is powered with the latest Android Ice Cream Sandwich Operating Software (OS). HCL asserted that the tablet is equipped with 17 local ready to use applications. It has a 7 inch 800X480 pixel screen and a 1Ghz processor.

The tablet has a front camera, 512 MB RAM, with an internal memory of 4GB extendable to 32GB. HCL ME U1 also has a full USB, mini USB and a Micro SD card slot. The U1 also offers for Wi-fi connectivity.

On the other hand, the MyEduTab tablet is expected to provide to the needs of learners across schools and higher education institutions.

The MyEduTab- K12 Version’s price comprises the price of the device, content and a memory card whereas educational applications and NCERT books will be free. MyEduTab- Higher Education (HE) Version is priced at Rs. 9, 999.

HCL Infosystems EVP and head of mobility Gautam Advani said that “Within five months, we have a market share of 15%. With this device, we expect to continue to keep our market share steady in the competitive tablet PC segment in India.”

The MyEduTab will be available on specifications like to U1, which is also offered with integrated back up service with HCL Touch, a 24X7 one touch service facility.

Both tablets will be hit in stores and for educational institutes in Delhi and across the country from April 2012 onwards.
