Guwahati: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national vice president Bijoya Chakravorty criticized the ruling Congress in the State for its so-called failure in providing the basic facilities to the people and inability to check increasing crimes.
Chakravorty said that CAG reports have pointed at the inadequacy of the Tarun Gogoi Government that remains harping on development and welfare of the people.
Chakravorty said that “All the departments of the Congress Government have failed to perform but still Tarun Gogoi shamelessly keeps blowing his own trumpet.”
Chakravorty criticised the Government for supposedly failing to check crimes in the State and mainly in the capital city that allegedly witnessed about 5,000 crimes in the last 5 years.
“Crimes against women have been growing in the State in the last six years. Still the Congress Government claims that Assam is marching on the road to progress,” Chakravorty said.
