Assam police officer under scanner for cash recovery.

Assam police officerGuwahati: Dipak Saikia, officer-in-charge, Sonapur Police Station, has been closed to the Assam Police headquarters on the charge of theft several lakhs of rupees which was recovered from the custody of Pradip Dutta, divisional officer of the Soil Conservation Department, Diphu.

It has been supposed that Saikia after recovering the cash from the vehicle of Dutta keeps an assured portion of the amount with himself and allowed Dutta to leave with enduring amount on Sunday.

SSP, City, Apurba Jivan Baruah told that an investigation had been begins into the event and the report would be submits soon.

He also said that Dutta did not look for any security for safe carrying of the cash which was quite strange.
