Guwahati: The hard-line group of the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA), headed by Paresh Baruah, has sent separate teams to Assam to treat in acts of violence and the police and security forces have been attentive to prevent the ultras’ attempts.
Police sources told that the Paresh Baruah group is frantic to indulge in acts of violence to make its presence felt and the outfit is also making efforts to extort money from different sections of people of the State.
According to the reports, members of ULFA in small groups of five or six members, have managed to sneak into India and they are still in Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh bordering Assam.
Headed by hardcore member Raktajit Hazarika, was delegate with the responsibility of indulging in acts of aggression in Dibrugarh district and the forces have been alerted to stop any move by the group.
Another team headed by Nayan Medhi and Rajiv Das are in Majuli area although the main focus of the team at this moment is extortion and not any major violent activity, sources said.
Hardcore militant Babul Gogoi is alleged to be in Changlang area of Arunachal Pradesh, while another wanted militant Lohit Das is also in the same area.
