Guwahati: The Standing Committee on Public Enterprise (SCOPE) awarded on NM Borah, Chairman and Managing Director, Oil India Limited, the report said. The SCOPE Award for Excellence and Outstanding Contribution to Public Sector Management-Individual Leader II PSE Category 2009-10, the reports said.
The award was presented by Dr Manmohan Singh, at a function in Vigyan Bhawan at New Delhi on January 31. The award is giving to exceptional professionals who have demonstrated their leadership and their pledge to reinforce public sector management.
Under the leadership of NM Borah, the Oil India Limited has been on a steady growth path. The Oil India, through stimulation of state-of-the-art and fit-for-purpose technology, has accomplished growth in production on a year-on-year basis over the last few years from its oilfields.
The company’s present level of crude oil production is about 3.90 MTPA and all this production comes from its mature fields in the North East.
The OIL hopes to achieve a level in excess of 4 MTPA from its North East operations in the instant future. The natural gas production latent presently is about 8 MMSCMD with 7 MMSCMD coming from the North East and I MMSCMD from its operations in Rajasthan.
Since the listing of the company on stock exchanges, investors and analysts have shown their belief in it. The company has also received some awards and accolades for its performance, the report said.
