Amazon.com has undertaking into the Indian online retail business with Junglee.com. Junglee facilitates customers to find and discover products from online and offline retailers in India and from Amazon.com. The service is presently in its beta stage.
More than 1.2 crore products and 14,000 brands are available and can be acquired directly from hundreds of retailers including Homeshop18, UniverCell, Hidesign, Gitanjali, The BombayStore, Fabindia, Bata India Limited, Dabur Uveda, Microsoft India Store, Reebok, and Amazon.com.
Different sites like flipkart.com, users cannot purchase directly from Junglee.com. The website laid customers in touch with sellers by directing them to the sellers’ websites; display their customer service phone numbers and providing their physical store locations to assist customers buy the products directly from sellers.
Amazon.com went live in the US in 1995 and today, has split websites for US, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Japan, and China.
Over a previous decade, Amazon has developed a customer base of about 30 million people. Its revenue has crossed USD 48 billion.
