Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati turned 56 on Sunday. Celebrations will be low key as EC has ordered the District Magistrate of Lucknow to keep a close watch on festivities and submit a full account of expenses acquired by the ruling BSP.
The EC is scrutinising all weddings and birthdays as it imagined that these occasions may be used to deal out gifts and bribe voters. Besides no big projects will be announced by the government as the model code of conduct is in place.
However, Mayawati may unveil her list of candidates for the upcoming elections.
State BSP president Swami Prasad Maurya claimed that “Behenji’s birthday celebration is being hosted by the party, and it is certainly not a violation of the election model code of conduct.”
According to him, Mayawati would also release the seventh dimensions of her autobiography with the newest account of her achievements.
According to the reports, Mayawati’s birthday celebrations were frequently associated with fund collection drives.
