Guwahati: While the doctor who attended on advocate, Deva Kumar Das after he was attacked by a wander off leopard on Saturday articulated shock at the latter succumbing to the injury, police is waiting for the deceased’s autopsy report to investigate any suspected murder angle.
Dr Paban Kumar Padampati of the Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital, who attended on Das, told that the injury that Das continued could never be the reason of his death.
Padampati said that “Das was not bleeding when he left the hospital, and I was shocked to know that he died on Sunday morning.”
Doubts are being expressed by various section’s clues at the property dispute angle, which could have been led to his death.
According to the sources, Das was fighting a property dispute case registered under Chandmari police station.
Das, who was discharged from the MMC after being provided first-aid on Saturday, was found dead in his room in a pool of blood the next day.
Senior Superintendent of Police AJ Baruah said they are waiting for the autopsy report before going ahead with any kind of exploration.
