India’s first supercar ‘Avanti’ unveils with the price tag of Rs 30 Lakh.

AvantiNew Delhi: Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan revealed India’s first supercar, ‘Avanti’, designed by style guru Dilip Chhabria’s DC Design at the 11th Auto Expo 2012 here on Thursday.

The Avanti is has set up its own production unit in Pune and it is expected to will meet Lamborghini Murcielago and Lamborghini Aventador directly in India.

According to Dilip Chhabria, the car can be tagged at a price of Rs 30 lakh (Rs 3 million) on road. His company DC Design is making a changeover from a design house to a production house with this car, he said.

He said that “This project has been committed an investment of Rs 60 crore (Rs 600 million) by way of internal accrual, debt and equity infusion. This investment will cover production, testing, and services upgradation.”

He also said that it will offer the looks, feel, dimensions, quality and fit and finish similar to supercars from Lamborghini and Ferrari, although less the horsepower.

Avanti will be powered by a V6 diesel engine sourced from Honda publicized 400 bhp of max power and will be placed following the driver, between the two axles.

The kerb weight of the supercar will be close to 1,560 kg. The wonder car will be produced in low volume (300 units initially) and will be accumulates at the DC’s facility in Pune.
