Guwahati: Army and Police arrested eight militants belonging to United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) and Muslim United Liberation Tigers of Assam (MULTA) in split operations in Kamrup and Dhubri districts, last night, the reports said.
Last night, three ULFA militants were arrests in Baihata Chariali by Rangiya Police. Three guns and 14 rounds of live grenades have been recovered from the militants.
In one more operation at Golokganj in Dhubri district, security forces arrested three ULFA cadres with a 12 bore shot gun, a grenade and some amount of cash in US dollars.
Two MULTA militants were also arrested in Dhubri district with one pistol and several incriminating documents.
According to the reports, all the militants are now being cross-examined at Baihata Chariali and Golokganj police stations.
