NDFB chief denied of extortion in BTAD area.

Ranjan DaimaryGuwahati: NDFB chief Ranjan Daimary yesterday said that the group is not behind any kind of extortion drive in the BTAD area and that the claims were baseless.

Daimary said, after he was produced at the Court of Sessions Judge, Kamrup that “Since we are on ceasefire, we do not want to abuse the ground rules.”

Daimary also said that initial talks between him and peace interlocutor PC Haldar were satisfactory. However, he stated that the group wants the talks to happen in a dignified manner, which is why the members of the outfit are demanding his release.

In the meantime, the bail petition of Ansai Boro, an accused in the October 30 serial blasts was filed before the court.

Bail petitions of another three charged are expected to be moved on December 22.
