Honda City’s new variant launched with price tag of Rs 6.99 lakh.

Honda CityNew Delhi: Japanese car maker Honda yesterday launched a new entry-level variant of its flagship Sedan City in India, cut the price by Rs 50,000 evaluated to that of the existing model.

The company, which is current in India through a joint venture with the Siel Group, had cut the price of the City by up to Rs 66,000 in June also, after applied several cost reduction measures.

On Wednesday, Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI) launched a revitalized version of the new City at prices ranging from Rs 6.99 lakh to Rs 10.22 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Seki Inaba, director of  Honda’s India subsidiary said that “We are adding features and cutting prices to make our cars more realistic to the prevailing competition in the market.”

Honda’s speciality in India has been the low-volume premium segment, where it sells the City, Civic and Accord sedans and the CR-V SUV.
