Raja’s lawyer Sushil Kumar said that “Achary is a planted witness and what happened yesterday was one big drama.”
According to Kumar, Achary cried in the court on Thursday and saying someone trying to kill him and has been following him.
The man who supposedly endangered Achary has been nabbed by the Delhi Police in court premises and produced before special CBI Judge OP Saini. Justice Saini allowed the police to cross-examine the person, who has been recognized as Jayprakash.
Refering to Achary’s statement that Jayprakash was sitting beside RK Chandolia in the court, Raja’s lawyer further said that the CBI needs to send Chandolia back to jail.
The trial court told Achary that “If you had told the court earlier about the threats you’ve been receiving, many of the accused wouldn’t have got bail.”
After a month of protest against start of trial, Raja on Thursday opened his defence with the examination of key CBI witness Achary, although it was disrupted for a while after Achary told to the judge about danger to his life from a man sitting in the courtroom.
