BSF and BGB share real time intelligence to check trans-border crimes.

BSF and BGBGuwahati: Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB), the border guarding forces of India and Bangladesh, have determined to share ‘real time intelligence’ to check trans-border crimes.

The sources said that sharing of intelligence by the border guarding forces of both the countries, would check trans-border crimes comprising movement of militants and smugglers to a great size.

The decision to share intelligence was taken at a meeting between senior officials of the BSF and BGB held lately in Shillong.

According to sources, the fake currency notes are manufactured mainly in Pakistan and the same are routed through Bangladesh.

In current times, the security forces of Bangladesh have been serving India to deal with the threat and the border guarding forces of India and Bangladesh have decided to improve coordination to check the problem.

While, the Government of Bangladesh has been taking action against the militants taking shelter in that country, several camps and bases of the militant groups including the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA), Ranjan Daimary faction of the National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB) and PLA are still active in the neighbouring country.

The BSF and BGB are also equally recognizing the susceptible patches of the international border for joint and coordinated patrolling.

The BSF has already appointed nodal officers for coordinated patrolling with the BGB, the reports said. The BSF and BGB have also determined to lay joint ensnare to check movement of militants and other anti-social elements on the basis of intelligence inputs.
