Assam Govt take serious steps to revive the state’s film industry.

Assam film industryGuwahati: The Assam government is taking severe steps to renew the state’s ailing film industry, the sources said.

The state’s Cultural Affairs Minister Pranati Phukan held a meeting lately with celebrated filmmakers of the state and considered methods to help the industry.

The meeting was attended amid others by film directors Munin Barua, Manju Bora, Bani Das and noted actos Nipon Goswami and Biju Phukan. The minister articulated the enthusiasm to solve the problems relating to the production of films and poor circumstance of Assamese cinema halls.

Owner of a major chain of cinema halls in the city, Chinmoy Sarma, secured all steps will be taken to improve the auditoria to draw more crowds.

The film fraternity recommended the government to release new Assamese films concurrently in at least 60 halls in line with Bollywood movies to draw crowd. The minister assured the delegation of all aid from the government’s side.
