New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi started his Jan Sampark Abhiyan in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday but not before his own party workers stopped his procession and also clashed over ticket distribution for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh polls.
Security Breach was reported after Rahul Gandhi’s parade was stopped by supporters of Subodh Srivastav, who has been deprived of ticket. Subodh is seeking assembly ticket from Lucknow Central. Prior, his yatra was marred by clashes between two groups within the Congress.
His campaign has underway in Barabanki and comes a day after the Chief Minister Mayawati almost ‘bulldozed’ through the opposition to get the resolution passed to split the state into four.
His 5-day tour would conclude into a public rally in Kushinagar on the November 26. After launching a no-holds barred assault on Mayawati and Samajwadi Party in Phulpur, Rahul will be making another attempt to reach out to the people of UP, the state that’s gearing up for polls early next year. Rahul will be addressing district level public meetings in the six districts.
