The 74-year-old activist said that he will not pick just anyone for the committee, and a background check will be conducted before introduced new members.
“The core team will be revamped and shall have 50 members from all walks of life,” he told reporters in Ralegan Siddhi after a meeting of the core team.
Meanwhile, the anti-corruption activist demanded that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) be made an autonomous body, saying it is essential that the agency is free of government control.
He also said that he will work towards allowed and reinforcement of Gram Sabhas, which is also his aim beside a corruption-free nation.
Asked about Swami Agnivesh, who has articulated his desire to apologise to him and reply to the team, Hazare said that the decision over the matter will be taken later.
Hazare had said Saturday that there is no harm in talking to Agnivesh, and that he will think about it.
