Four security personnel injured in Kashmir terror attacks.

Kashmir terror attacksSrinagar: Four security personnel were injured in as many terror attacks in Kashmir Valley on Tuesday, a day before Diwali festival.

After two following grenade attacks in Srinagar in early afternoon, militants targeted Anantnag and Shopian as they opened fire at a bus stand and targeted a police vehicle respectively. A policeman was reported injured in the Anantnag incident.

Another attack took place in Zainpora area of Shopian district as militants chuck a grenade on a police vehicle. Happily the grenade did not explode.

Prior in the day, militants hurled a grenade at a bunker of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Maisuma area near busy Lal Chowk. Three personnel were fatally injured in the attack.

It was followed by an attack in Batmaloo area, where a police blockade was targeted. No injury was reported in the second outburst. The militants managed to flee after the attacks.

The attacks follow Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s proclamation of withdrawing Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) from certain areas. The law, which consent to security forces to arrest people on suspicion, is relatively unpopular in the valley.
