New Delhi: Veteran Gandhian Anna Hazare on Thursday announced that he will persist with his maun vrat, vow of silence, citing health reasons for his decision. His decision comes 2 days before Team Anna’s core committee is set to meet and at a time when the team is stuck in controversies.
“My health still does not permit me to give up the vow of silence…I have taken the decision to go on with maun vrat,” he wrote on his blog.
Hazare explained that the swelling on his legs remains unabated, progressing to create problems for his knees.
The vow of silence he starts Oct 16 proved beneficial since verbal communication weakens him, Hazare added.
After going on maun vrat, Hazare shifted his residence from the Padmavati Temple complex to his old residence, the Yadavbaba Temple complex, in this village, concerning 250 km from the state capital Mumbai.
