Chennai: Defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) need to get themselves out of the darkness of a dramatic loss to Mumbai Indians to dock any hopes of beating an in-form Cape Cobras when they take on the South African group in the CLT20 here on Wednesday.
Unbeatable at home until losing to Mumbai in a last-ball thriller on Saturday, the breach of Chennai’s 8-match winning streak at the MA Chidambaram stadium adds to an unhappy personal summer for India and CSK skipper MS Dhoni.
Cobras, who are on a high after their striking opening triumph over 2009 champions New South Wales Blues, will test Chennai in every department of the game and if anything, will present a rigid challenge than CSK faced in their 1st match against Mumbai.
The Cobras have looked the best side at this early stage of the tournament, as they showed in their 7-wicket triumph over NSW on Saturday.
But in perception, the Cobras may regret not being tested by NSW because Chennai are certain to test them in every department, mainly since they are playing at home.
