NCP activists held protest against Shoaib Akhtar’s controversial remarks.

Shoaib Akhtar’s bookThane: NCP activists today held a protest against earlier Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar following his controversial remarks about Sachin Tendulkar, police said today.

The protesters also tried to burn the earlier speedster’s effigy before the Thane Municipal Corporation office here but their attempt was foiled, they said.

In his confess autobiography, Akhtar has made many controversial claims. Akhtar has written that Sachin lacked the ability to end matches in the preliminary stages of his career.

Fifteen NCP activists have been detained, police said. Yesterday, a protest was held in suburban Dahisar against Akhtar, where protesters carried his posters on donkey-backs.

In his autobiography ‘Controversially Yours’,  Akhtar has made many claims, including one which says that Tendulkar did not have the skill to end matches in the preliminary stages of his career.
