Mumbai: One of country’s leading photographers, Gautam Rajadhyaksha passed away early Tuesday morning following a massive heart attack. He was 61. The lensman had worked with about all the leading stars of Indian film industry.
Rajadhyaksha was very admired among film personalities and worked on portraits of about all the leading stars of the Indian film industry.
One of India’s most celebrated portraitist, he has photographed about all the icons of the Indian film industry. A classmate of actor Shabana Azmi, Rajadhyaksha left his advertising job in 1987 and took up commercial photography. He worked for De’s magazine ‘Celebrity’ and soon appears as a leading celebrity photographer.
Actor Abhishek Bachchan tweeted “Possibly one of the sweetest and most gentle people you would ever meet. Rest in peace Gautam, you will be greatly missed.”
“When I was hugely overweight…gautam told me..”Darling…not that it makes a difference but try to give me your left profile…it may help! A deep sense of loss…we lost the one man who captured every movie star with his lens and his heart…RIP Gautam…you will remain forever,” Karan Johar also tweeted.
The funeral of Rajadhyaksha, cousin of popular columnist and writer Shobhaa De, will be held this evening.
