Imphal: A four-day signature campaign of the BJP Manipur Pradesh against non-availability of necessary commodities and petroleum products in Manipur kicked off Wednesday. BJP state unit president, Sh Santikumar led the signature campaign from Khwairamband Bazar, in Imphal.
Santikumar while kicking off the signature campaign said that “Government unable to break the impasse with the SHDDC imposing economic blockade on the national highways has indicated that the Congress led Secular Progressive Front (SPF) government in the state has failed in all front.”
He also said that the signature campaign was not only against scarcity of essential commodities due to prolonged imposition of economic blockade on the national highways, although also uncontrolled rise in prices of essentials items in the state.
The memorandum will be submitted to the state governor on September 19, according to the reports.
The BJP president told to media that the memorandum will have 4 components which will basically seek availability of necessary commodities and petroleum products at a reasonable price in markets across the state.
The memorandum will also seek out for cracking the whip on black marketeers and compensation money at Rs 5000 per family by the government to offset the artificially created price rise following the economic blockade. Also, the memorandum will asked the government to settle the Sadar Hills issue at the initial possible date.
