Hyderabad: Former cricketer and Congress MP Mohammed Azharuddin’s son Mohammed Ayazuddin, who suffered critical injuries in a high-speed motorcycle accident on Sunday morning, prolong to be in a very critical condition on the 2nd day, the reports said.
On Monday, doctors said that the 19-year-old is suffering from multi-organ failure and doctors are trying to assess the condition of his brain. His vital functions are being maintained with medication and other treatment.
“His (Ayazuddin’s) condition continues to be very critical and the patient is being managed in the Intensive Care Unit on ventilator and BP support,” a medical bulletin issued on Monday evening by the super-specialty hospital where he is being treated said.
It also said that “Neurological assessments are being performed to assess his brain condition, which could be a major concern. It is suspected that there may be a significant brain dysfunction due to anoxia during the period in which the patient was in a collapsed stage, which can be confirmed only after serial neurological tests.”
In the meantime, Mohammed Azharuddin, who was in London when the accident happens on Sunday morning, reached the hospital in the wee hours of Monday. Since the news broke out, there has been a stream of VIP visitor at Apollo Hospital where the budding cricketer is enduring treatment.
Ayazuddin is Azharuddin’s 2nd son from his 1st wife Naureen of Hyderabad. Ayazuddin is a second-year student of St Mary’s College.
