New Delhi: Team Anna has received a message from Parliament that states that all 3 conditions of Anna Hazare have been agreed upon, according to reports. Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee is expected to move an appeal in Parliament today at 4:30 pm.
The Government and opposition today emerged in Lok Sabha over the issue saw the 2 sides moving closer to consent on most points, including 3 sticky issues of including the lower bureaucracy, appointing Lokayuktas in states and having a Citizens’ Charter, which were a bone of argument in the past.
The tone of the debate was lay down by NDA Working President L K Advani who in his brief remarks appealed to the House to consider the issue for the entire day although make sure that by evening the views of the House reach Hazare.
Leader of the Opposition Sushma Swaraj said history has specified the House an opportunity to pass this legislation and it should not overlook it by getting entangled in technicalities. She said that “Let us give this country an effective, strong, free and impartial Lokpal.”
Finishing all assumptions about BJP’s reservations on the 3 sticky points on which Team Anna was resolute, Swaraj said her party gives its consent to all of them.
The Congress also emphasized that the government was satisfying to reasonable changes on the contentious issues and most of it is a matter of dialogue and design.
