London: England’s supremacy over an average looking India has been continuing in the 4th test also. Although Oval had been a lucky ground for India for the last 52 years, 1st two days of the final test have not proved so lucky for the team India.
After rain washed out the 2nd session on Day 3 of the final Test, the hosts declared on their Lunch total of 591/6, putting India into bat. It was a miserable last session of the day for the visitors as they were reduced to a 103/5 in 33 overs at stumps with Rahul Dravid on 57 not out and captain M S Dhoni, batting on 5.
On the other hand, England once again conquered the game. Sehwag was out reasonably while Laxman fell to a poor shot. Dravid and Tendulkar steadied the ship before Swann dismiss Tendulkar. Swann was the star as he sent back Raina and Ishant too.
India’s terrible form has sustained with both ball and bat. With only the last recognised pair left at the crease, fugitive follow-on will be almost an unfeasible task for India, unless Dravid and Dhoni can perform well on the 4th day.
The team has been assailed with criticism from all quartersm and India’s earlier coach Garry Kirsten was shocked at India’s poor form. He said that India would come out stronger from this disaster. This can ensued to any team in the world.
