New Delhi: The United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government ready to meet some of Anna Hazare’s demands over Lokpal Bill. Parliament will discuss all the 4 version of the Lokpal bills on Friday, the sources said.
Parliament will approve a resolution that a strong Lokpal Bill will be passed and that the dialogue on it will happen under Rule 184 which involved voting. But, the Jan Lokpal Bill not voted upon or passed by Parliament.
Hazare’s close associate and former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Kiran Bedi said that the 74-year-old anti-corruption crusader will break off his fast on Friday morning after the resolution is adopted.
The Government’s undertaking was made easier after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came out in favour of dialogue on the Jan Lokpal Bill. The response came less than an hour after Hazare set his situation to end his 10-day-old fast while addressing his supporters at New Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan.
Deshmukh met Hazare just a few hours after sources told IBN that the 74-year-old anti-corruption crusader wanted to confer directly with the Government and talk to a leader from Maharashtra.
According to the reports, vigilance departments can control corruption in states though the Lokpal can have a supervisory role. However, the Government is not intense on including lower bureaucracy under the Lokpal’s ambit.
