Imphal: In a move to convey a resolution to the ongoing road blockade and indefinite bandh on highway arising out of a demand for a separate district, the Manipur cabinet make a decision to hold dialogues besides bringing supplies from outside.
Chief Minister O Ibibo Singh chaired the cabinet meeting which decide to constitute a committee on Reorganisation of administration and police district boundary to reorganize the state administration.
After cabinet meeting last evening spokesman of the ruling Secular Progressive Front minister and Irrigation and Food control minister Nongthonbam N Biren Singh said that “the cabinet has seriously discussed the situation and resolved to hold dialogues with both the agitating parties simultaneously to explore possibilities that would help bring amicable solution.”
But, he did not make any cautious date as to when the dialogue will begin. He also said that state chief secretary led committee on reorganisation of administration and police district boundary will submit a report to the government within 3 months.
He also stated that the cabinet has acutely discussed the prevailing scarceness of essential commodities in the state after reviewing the stock position commodities in the state.
In the meantime, the Sadar Hills District Demanding (SHDD) committee president Nagmkhohao Haokip rejected the cabinet decision to comprise a committee on reorganisation of administration and police district boundary. “We will continue our agitation until our demand is met,” he said.
