IAF helicopters airdropped food packets in Arunachal Pradesh.

IAF helicoptersShillong: Indian Air Force helicopters on Friday airdropped food packets to thousands of abandoned people in the East Kameng district in Arunachal Pradesh bordering China, reports said.

Arunachal Pradesh government had demanded IAF helicopters to drop emergency food at Seppa, Chyangtajo, Bameng and Khanewa where people faced crucial shortage of food supplies.

IAF spokesman Ranjeeb Sahoo said that “We have airdropped emergency rations in several areas where people were facing critical shortages of food supplies in the district.”

He also said that Relief operations persist in full swing and concerning 5 tonnes of supplies have been air lifted to the pretentious areas thus far.

The IAF official said that further sorties have been intended and would maintain till the crisis in the exaggerated areas are overcome and, subject to weather, extra helicopters will be pressed into service.
