New Delhi: Social activist Anna Hazare’s fast at Ramlila Maidan entered the 2nd day on Saturday. According to reports, Hazare is in fine health and all his organs are working fine. On the 5th day of his fast on Saturday, he said that he’ll ‘not give up’.
The Gandhian said at the Ramlila Ground “I have lost 3.5 kg over the past four days… but there is nothing to worry. I will not give up…we will keep fighting until we get the Jan Lokpal bill passed.”
The sources revealed that the parliament standing committee headed by Abhishek Manu Singhvi has invited opinion from individual organisation on the lokpal bill.
In the meantime, the UPA government on Friday emerged open to discussing his team’s major demand to place the Prime Minister within the scope of the proposed lokpal’s powers.
However, the government seems to be in no hurry to engage in a dialogue with Team Anna and amend its stand on some of the controversial demands being made by the civil society team.
Hazare announced that he would fight to the last breath until the government gets his team’s Jan Lokpal Bill passed in this session of Parliament, which ends on September 8.
