CM Tarun Gogoi announced to help Rs 100 crore for flood ravage Dhemaji.

DhemajiGuwahati: Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Tuesday announced a special help worth Rs 100 crore for the overall improvement of the flood-ravaged Dhemaji district during the survey.

The Chief Minister also announced an ex-gratia help of Rs 1 lakh to the next of family of each of those killed in the floods that devastated the district.

As well, he said that the Government would extend aid of Rs 25,000 to each of them who have lost their permanent residential and Rs 10, 000 to each of them who have lost their kutcha houses.

He asked the departments concerned to take all the necessary steps to shove the Gai River back to its original course. He also focussed the district administration to continue supply of food, medicine, drinking water, clothes etc to the flood-hit people.

The Chief Minister also directed the Deputy Commissioner of the district to organize a inclusive plan for the development of infrastructure of the district, which has been facing overwhelming floods every year for mitigation of the impact of the problem.

Revenue Minister Prithibi Majhi and Water Resources Minister Rajiv Lochan Pegu were also present during the Chief Minister’s visit to Dhemaji district Tuesday. Both the Ministers are currently camping at Dhemaji at the direction of the Chief Minister.
