Mumbai: According to the reports, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) took online survey company Speak Asia COO Tarak Bajpai in custody for questioning on Friday. The Singapore based company Speak Asia has been charges of Rs 2000 crore scam.
Speak Asia Online (SAOL) would be examined under section 591 of the Companies Act, which is relevant on companies incorporated outside India and has recognized a place of business within the country, reports said.
Speak Asia has also faced charges that several of the companies proposed to benefit from its surveys had not employed it.
The Singapore-based company ran into a controversy over its supposed pyramid scheme that involve paid subscribers filling up online consumer survey forms and allure more into its fold in return for commissions.
Financial experts had questioned the essential fundamentals of the business that gives such high returns and asked investors to be cautious.
