New Delhi: India’s ace spinner Harbhajan Singh’s mother Avtar Kaur has provided a legal notice to UB Spirits which owned by Vijay Mallya, for a television advertisement that shows Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni “mocking” him.
According to the reports, in the notice, Kaur has asked for a public apology and discontinuation of the ad, to which the UB Group firm has not yet responded.
Despite Mallya, the notice has been sent to UB Executive Vice Chairman SR Gupte, President & CFO Ravi Nedungadi, Deputy President Harish Bhat and Executive VP Nandini Verma. It also seeks out a compensation of Rs. 1, 00, 000 to the cricketer’s family towards the cost of the notice.
Harbhajan and Dhoni endorse competitor brands. The Indian skipper in a McDowell’s No. 1 Platinum advertisement supposedly makes fun of Harbhajan, who had featured in an advertisement for Royal Stag.
In the Dhoni commercial, the Harbhajan look identical works in a factory and gets slapped by his father for creates humongous iron balls in a tryst to ‘make it large’ at the ball-bearings workshop.
